Here’s a little bit about some of the writers who will be posting on a regular basis. As stated on the “Our Story” page, all of us are employed by or connected to LifeSource.
Each writer’s posts reflect their own view and perspective on the topic about which they are posting and should not be considered position statements from LifeSource. Writers are asked to abide by a code of ethics in creating and engaging in dialogue here and accross the web.
rebeccaousley is more casually referred to as “Becky” in the real world. She’s LifeSource’s Public Relations Coordinator, honored to help tell the amazing stories of people touched by donation and transplantation. She’s been with the organization since November 2004, shortly after moving to Minneapolis from Ann Arbor, Michigan. She has a little one named Dylan, a big one named Nick and two furry ones named Tugg and Sage. You can friend Becky on Facebook or drop her an email if you’d like to get in touch.
smlarson is Susan in real life…kind of like Dan in Real Life only younger, married and happy. Her husband, by chance, is named Dan and she’s got two tweenagers named Nicholas and Sammy. Susan is the Public Affairs Director at LifeSource, leading the team responsible for increasing the number of registered donors in the Upper Midwest. If you inferred that Susan is Becky’s boss, you are correct. You can friend Susan on Facebook or drop her an email if you’d like to tell her what a stellar job Becky is doing.
Jeffrichert is Jeff Richert, LifeSource’s volunteer coordinator. Jeff works with donor families, transplant recipients and other interested parties to help them share their story in their community to encourage people to register as organ and tissue donors. Jeff’s background in special education uniquely prepared him for working with his Public Affairs colleagues. When he’s not tirelessly spreading the message of donation you can usually find Jeff on his deck enjoying a cold drink, toiling in the garden or garage, or looking for hidden treasures. Jeff has been married to Maria for a blissful twelve years and their lives are filled with the energy of their nine and seven year-old sons, Joe and Isaac. You can send Jeff an e-mail or friend him on Facebook if you’d like to get in touch.
Johnlemay is, not surprisingly, John LeMay, one of LifeSource’s Family Services Coordinators. John provides support and care to the families of donors who have given the gift of life in the months and years following their loved one’s donation. John’s long hair, earring and tall stature conceal a pastor’s spirit and he and his wife, Lisa, are licensed to join couples in matrimony and often do so as a team. John also volunteers as a chaplain with the Minneapolis Police Department. When he’s not caring for the grieving or connecting the devoted, John spends time with Lisa and his three children – Melissa, 14; Nathaniel, 5; and Lucia, 2. You can reach John by dropping him an e-mail or friending him on Facebook.
